This exhibition of new work by Gary Coyle RHA, will explore a variety of themes and subjects that have previously informed his practice namely the Gothic, dystopian landscapes, found imagery and portraiture. New subject matter will be explored, posing questions about nature versus culture, the function of the frame and the gallery space, and the making of pictures in our image saturated world. Into the Woods will include a large wall drawing of a forest, created digitally using Photoshop on a drawing tablet over which will be hung salon style, a series of dense heavily worked charcoal drawings incorporating elaborate hand drawn frames.
