This July sees the highly acclaimed exhibition by RHA President, Mick O’Dea, The Foggy Dew showing at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation where visitors can view a selection of portraits of the men and women involved in the 1916 Rising at Ballina Arts Center where sculpture and painting will be on exhibit.
“In The Foggy Dew, he has made a personal reflection on the Rising on an epic scale. It is spectacular, but subdued and ruminative. Despite the quashing of the Rising, the triumphalism of the British soldiers, what emerges in the muted, ominous tone of the work is that the substance and presumption of British rule was nevertheless being hollowed out.” Aidan Dunne, The Irish Times, 19.01.2016
A catalogue documenting the showing of The Foggy Dew exhibition at the RHA, shown in January and February 2016 will be launched at the opening on 15 July and will be available to purchase online at rhagallery.ie/shop
