A work carved in glowing white Michelangelo marble, entitled Visor by Imogen Stuart RHA will be on exhibit in the RHA Foyer. Stuart who was elected the RHA’s Professor of Sculpture in 2000 is well known for her commissioned ecclesiastical sculptures such as the Stations of the Cross in Ballintubber, the interior of Castleknock church and Burt Church
The National Self Portrait Collection of Ireland at the University of Limerick has its origins with the purchase of fifteen self-portraits in 1977. In 1982 a Board of Trustees was appointed to establish and maintain a national collection of self-portraits. Since then each year a small number of practicing artists are invited to add their portrait to the collection.
