Midsummer is a commemoration of the season of Summer and is usually celebrated around the Summer Solstice, which takes place on 21 June this year.
When viewing the 193rd Annual Exhibition, you’ll find that many artists draw inspiration from their own lives when making art.
For this workshop, you are invited to bring along souvenirs and treasures that define Summer for you – whether it be flowers, sand, pebbles or seashells. You will use these to decorate a frame in which you can place an image of your summer fun or one your artworks!
Art facilitator Sheila McCarron will also demonstrate art you can make for the outdoors including a sun dial and plants stakes.
