Join artist Jennifer Trouton in conversation with author Cristín Leach to discuss Jennifer’s current show In Plain Sight (6 September – 20 October).  The evening will include a reading by the authorHaving first written about Jennifer’s work in her role as a critic for The Sunday Times, almost fifteen years ago, Cristín responds to this important and remarkable body of work in the form of an introductory essay for the accompanying publication, One of Many.

Jennifer Trouton is a Belfast based artist who works within the discipline of paint, however, her practice often expands to incorporate additional materials such as embroidery, wallpaper and textiles.  Since graduating from the University of Ulster in the mid-nineties, her work has been extensively exhibited both nationally and internationally.  Trouton’s work is held in numerous public and private collections including the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, The Arts Council of Ireland, The Irish State collection and Queen’s University, Belfast.

Cristín Leach is an Irish art critic, broadcaster and author of the critically acclaimed memoir Negative Space (2022) and the RHA bicentenary book From Ten Till Dusk, A Portrait of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts in Twelver Stories (2023).  Her writing has been published in The Sunday Times, Irish Arts Review, RTÉ Culture and Winter Papers.
