Live Performance by Cecilia Bullo and Reading by Dr Martin Worthington

Performance

Gallagher Gallery
On 5 Apr, 2023

As part of the Dublin Learning City Festival, we invite you to visit the RHA on the evening of April 5th for a unique performance by artist Cecilia Bullo and a conversation with Dr Martin Worthington, Al Maktoum Associate Professor, Near & Middle Eastern Studies, Trinity College Dublin

This performance will consist of an augmented and enhanced version of the soundtrack part of Cecilia Bullo‘s exhibition – Being Haunted by the breezes, now how will you exist? – curated by RHA gallery director Patrick T. Murphy, currently on show in the Gallagher Gallery, RHA, until 23rd April 2023. This unique performance accompanied by a live presentation of Primevil-Mother will be executed with instruments and a vocal delivery within the gallery space. Primevil-Mother is a soundtrack envisaged by Cecilia Bullo and developed with the assistance of assyriologist expert Dr. Martin Worthington (TCD), constructed and produced together with PROJECT collective, consisting of PARANOID VISIONS founder P.A and legendary musical terrorist Stano. For this live performance ritualistic spoken words in ancient Sumerian will be performed by the artist. On this occasion for this performance they are joined by Kaz from hotly tipped post punk/pre grunge duo Vulpynes on drums. Following this performance, Dr Martin Worthington, Al Maktoum Associate Professor, Near & Middle Eastern Studies at Trinity College Dublin will offer a reading in Sumerian as a response to Cecilia’s exhibition and provide interesting insights into his research during a conversation with the artist and RHA Curator Sarah McAuliffe.
