We’re delighted to welcome Dr Derville Murphy to the RHA for a talk on Margaret Allen HRHA (1832-1914)

Dr Derville Murphy, author, artist and art historian, gives a talk in the RHA Friends Room, on Margaret Allen HRHA (1832-1914), the first female honorary member of the RHA

Derville has written a dramatic historical novel inspired by research that she carried out on Margaret Allen’s life and will describe her own creative practice as a way of carrying out historical research.

In 2022 she wrote an article for History Ireland on Allen. You can read the piece here.

    The Royal Hibernian Academy is located in the city centre of Dublin, adjacent to the National Gallery of Ireland and National Museum of Ireland and within close proximity to a wide variety of public transport services, such as Dublin Bus (Routes: 39A, 46A and 145) and Dart (Pearse Dart Station).
