This is a painting module organised in 3 distinct blocks that aims to give students a skill-based grounding in painting research, material potentials and painting surface relationships in support of developing a project-based approach to developing an individual painting language.
In this module, participants will be shown how to combine practical knowledge on areas such as washes, glazes, impasto and viscosity recipes for blurring and gradients. Within this an onus will be put on how these elements combined can activate and transform painting through building a paint language and practical knowledge that can be implemented into the student’s practice. Tutor’s on this module include Gabhann Dunne, Ciara Roche and Stephen Dunne.
This course is an accredited module – worth 5 Credits.

TU DUBLIN ACCREDITATION
The completion of all 6 modules are awarded with a CPD Diploma in Painting and Drawing, Technological University Dublin, Minor Award with a NQF Level 8. Students can complete all 6 modules over the course of one academic year or complete separate modules over the course of a number of years. All modules will be subject to the quality assurance and exam regulations of TU Dublin.
Please note that students are NOT required to complete Term 1 courses before applying for Term 2 courses.
