Plinth Politics with Ursula Burke

- 16 Oct, 2019

Plinth Politics is a series of public talks that invited artists to talk about their practice with a particular focus on the agency of the sculptural object. The physical encounter with the three dimensional art object, an encounter which is both tactile and real, has been a persistent pursuit for artists and audience engagement in the digital age when meaning and content is migrating to the virtual realm. Artists have used the sculptural object to assert power and presence in both overt and elliptical ways.

The RHA School Public talk series examine aspects of visual culture in the context of Irish Contemporary art.
