Anne Crookshank HRHA, 1927 – 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Honorary RHA Member, Professor Anne Crookshank who died in Milford, Co. Donegal on 18 October 2016. Amongst Professor Crookshank’s many achievements was the establishment of the History of Art Department in Trinity College Dublin in 1966 as well as her continuous role in the development of the history of Irish art in the world of Academia. Professor Crookshank was also a medalist of the Royal Irish Academy, former Curator of Art at the Ulster Museum and a prominent figure in the development of the Irish Georgian Society and Castledown Foundation.
The RHA invited Professor Crookshank, who had achieved so much in her lifetime, to be an Honorary Member of the RHA. We are honoured to have had the pleasure of calling Anne our colleague, she will be greatly missed. Mick O’Dea RHA President.
