The Piercetown Residential Studio Award

Applications Now Open

The Piercetown Residency, administered by the RHA School, is awarded annually to an artist working primarily in the medium of paint.

Generously donated by artist Peter Curling, the Piercetown home and studio in Co. Tipperary, where he lived and worked for over 30 years, offers a unique opportunity for painters to focus on their practice in a dedicated and inspiring environment.

The residency runs from the start of December 2025 to December 2026. The selected artist will have exclusive use of the house, studio, and outbuildings, including custom-built art storage, at a nominal cost of €400 per month plus utilities.
Please note that the studio is not suitable for sculptors. Located in beautiful countryside approximately 8km from Cashel, applicants are advised to have access to private transport.

Applications are now open for the 2025 residency.

Closing date: 28 November at 4 pm.

To apply, please email the following to Annie O’Brien, RHA School & Studios Administrator, at annie@rhagallery.ie:

  • CV
  • Six examples of your work (JPEG format)
  • A short work proposal outlining your time at the residency.
