Eamon O'Kane

12 Jan, 2007 - 1 Feb, 2007

‘Eamon O’Kane has chosen Edgar Allan Poe’s essay ‘Philosophy of Furniture’ as the starting point for his recent work. In this body of work he chooses to explore the relationship between man-made domestic objects and nature.
He juxtaposes large drawings of trees with drawings of chairs and tables that are fractured by other trees of varying shapes and sizes. O’Kane uses charcoal on paper in a self-referential loop which points to the materiality of the objects he represents. He also presents a series of laser etchings on primed masonite boards.
