Receiving an ACCESS place on a module is highly competitive, and the reason for your application through the ACCESS programme must be fully detailed in your cover letter.
This is a 15-week module that will run from September 2026 to December 2026.
Students will learn the basic technical and material skills to underpin a painting practice. They will learn a depth of knowledge in colour theory, modulation and paint application and will learn the chemical properties of paint and supports. The course will be delivered in the form of lectures, group crits, discussion, learner reviews, project work, self-directed learning, studio practice and recommended reading lists.

This is a 5-credit module with the RHA School accredited by TU Dublin.
TU DUBLIN ACCREDITATION
The completion of all 10 modules is awarded with a 60-credit Diploma in Painting and Drawing, Technological University Dublin, with an NQF Level 8. There are three exit awards at 30 credits, which are awarded a 30-credit certificate at level 8.

Students can complete all modules over the course of two academic years, or complete separate modules over the course of a number of years. All modules will be subject to the quality assurance and exam regulations of TU Dublin. Please note that students are not required to complete Term 1 courses before applying for Term 2 courses.
