Receiving an ACCESS place on a module is highly competitive, and the reason for your application through the ACCESS programme must be fully detailed in your cover letter.
This is a 15-week module that will run from September 2026 to December 2026.
Mentored drawing is scheduled on Thursday mornings from 10 am to 1 pm. The sessions will involve direct contact with a mentor, structured in 5-week blocks. The course is delivered through blended learning of field trips and studio learning. This 15-week term will be organised around three blocks of five weeks in drawing, led by tutors David Eager Maher, Una Sealy RHA and Dorothy Smith ARHA. There will be a tutored session on Thursday mornings, in which participants will work from live observation. This module aims to transition students from direct contact to full self-directed drawing practice. Students will build upon drawing skills and material approaches.

This is a 5-credit module with the RHA School accredited by TU Dublin.
TU DUBLIN ACCREDITATION
The completion of all 10 modules is awarded with a 60-credit Diploma in Painting and Drawing, Technological University Dublin, with an NQF Level 8. There are three exit awards at 30 credits, which are awarded a 30-credit certificate at level 8.

Students can complete all modules over the course of two academic years, or complete separate modules over the course of a number of years. All modules will be subject to the quality assurance and exam regulations of TU Dublin. Please note that students are not required to complete Term 1 courses before applying for Term 2 courses.
